My son's stroke in Dec. was major with memory loss, particularly short-term, and quite a bit of confusion. A permanent shunt was inserted shortly after the stroke. He is receiving therapy for the memory loss, and our Dr. says he has doubts about his own diagnosis of Moyamoya. A CT Scan was performed two weeks ago and during the ensuing conference the former images were reviewed. He sees no more narrowing or thickening but needs time to study all before the angiogram in May. We are cautiously optimistic never having heard of the disease before December. I appreciate the information and encouragement you offer on this website. The trauma we experienced with our adult son (divorced with 3 adult (almost) sons) and our desire to care for him make us sympathetic to all who suffer from this disease. DJ, you are very unselfish to continue to share yourself in this way. Thanks!
