Wow, Your post really brought me back to a year ago when our daughter was first diagnosed. The waiting was unbearable!!!! We were scheduled to wait 3 months for surgery until Kathleen suffered another stroke. It was moved forward. We essentialy had no life we were so consumed with keeping her healthy until surgery.I think what has amazed me most about this experience is what we will except in our life, and deal with.Kathleen was also born with Down Syndrome so at a very young age she taught me what was really important and not to "sweat" the little things. She also showed me how to celebrate the smallest of accomplishments. Not just those first big steps, but all the tiny steps to get there.Kids just accept so much and she has been my hero all through this. She makes it so easy for me to get up in the morning, If she can face the day with a big smile anyone can.Your family will be inour prayers Douglas it sounds like you have some great support!
