My son just had surgery in CA in June. when we were there the MacDonald house was full, but the hospital was great at helping us find a place to stay at a good price. Actually they paid half of a hotel bill for us. They are great at finding a way to help you just keep in contact with you social worker. I had lost contact before going so I had to pay full price for 2 nights but I went to the Stanford Inn in Palo Alto and they only had a double room but gave it to me at single rates, so even the hotel people will help you out.
