We have a recently diagnosed case of MM here (confirmed by Dr. Steinberg, who viewed the films). Does anyone know any experienced surgeons in the Miami/South Florida area? We contacted a Dr. Glenn Morrison of Miami Children's Hospital (whose nurse--doc was in surgery when we called--said that the doc had done 10+ MM cases, one in the last month). An appt has been made to scope the doc out and ask questions about his cases and outcomes. We really like Dr. Steinberg, but if the insurance says NO (which is likely, barring divine intervention), then that may be really tought to set-up. A local, plan-authorized doc with a record of successful MoyaMoya surgeries would be a godsend.
