I'm sorry to here about your husband most people are diagnosed in time. Our surgeon said it would not be necessary to test our 10 year old.I don't know that they can say for sure its hereditary but they dont know a whole lot about moyamoya still as opposed to other diseases. My daughter was acting out of character she was being very loud and shouting out and very figity scratching her legs alot pretty fast and carrying on with my 10 year old like she was ten also. The doctor thought it was a reaction from high doses of prednisone which she was taking for phenamonia. she then one day after calling him became incontinent several times and couldnt really concentrate properly at work or at home. Two days after christmas she was scratching her legs nervously and laughing at everything like she had been for several days everything was funny. Then I noticed her left arm she was numb she was holding it like it was in a cast and her left side of her mouth was drooping. I pinched as hard as I could on her left arm and she could barely feel it. I called the doctor and he said to take her to the emergency room, it was then she was diagnosed with a mass upon further testing she was diagnosed with moyamoya. Then it was thank God for D.J. and Dr. Steinbreg. Anymore questions are fine I will answer as many as you have. Just remember your husband is always with you!
