My wife Carla was diagnosed with having MM on the left side of her brain at the age of 35. Her right side is mostly normal, and she has never had any numbing on her left side which would mean damage on the right side of her brain. After receiving a double EC/IC bypass on the left side of her brain two and a half years ago, she is doing fine, and the doctor doesn't forsee any problems on the right side of her brain in the future.
Just because the signs of MM aren't on both sides doesn't mean that it's not MM. The risks are the same. Just make sure your doctor doesn't delay the treatment that's needed, just so can know what to call it.
