Hi Krose,
welcome to our MM family!
My advice to you is to do a lot of research and learn all you can about MMD. The more you learn about MM the less scary it is. You’ll find that this is a successfully treatable disease
IF you go in the proper direction. No two cases are alike, so experience and knowledge about MM is vital. I’m sure you’ve discovered by now, that this is still considered a rare disease and because of that, unfortunately there is still a lack of real MM experience out there in the medical community, so to make sure you go in the best direction for your particular case, it’s so important that your neurosurgeon have MM experience. I can’t emphasize that enough.
We’ve had several members mention that
Dr. Newel at Swedish may have experience in treating MMD. But keep in mind; a second opinion with a MM specialist is always very wise. A MM specialist, who deals with MM on a daily basis, can review your films and make sure you’re on the best path for your case.
There is a wealth of information here. Good luck and keep us posted.
