It's a sad day for Shan
Sep 12th, 2006 at 1:43pm

Hi All,

I just wanted to let our Moya Moya family know that
Shan's father passed away last Tuesday, 09/05.   Smiley  I know she hasn't been answering her e-mails and such, but she has been very busy taking care of her father.  I just read about it in our local newspaper, the Honolulu Advertiser.

Aloha,
Jan

I'm not sure if her email address still works, I just emailed something to her and it got bounced back.  I'll try and call her to express my condolences.

Hi Jan,

Thanks so much for letting us know about the loss of Shan's father. If you manage to get in touch with Shan please let her know she and her family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I have been thinking about you and your mom and really miss talking with you since we left Stanford. It was good to see you on the board and I hope all is well with you.

Hugs,

Lore

Hi Everyone,
I have been in touch with Shan and she is doing OK. Her dad didn't suffer and was only really bad the day before he passed away. She really misses you all and asked me to let everyone know (Tom and Greg etc. ) that she will be in New Jersey on business next week.

I was misdiagnosed with MM in March of 2005. In January 2006, I was told it is not MM, but rather a massive restriction in the MC1 segment of my left carotid artery.

Has anyone heard how Shan is doing?  I've been reading the posts and constantly thinking about her.  If anyone talks to her, please let her know that my brother and I have been thinking about her and praying for her.

Thanks!

Thanks for the up-date on Shan.

Shan -  My prayers are with you and you will be on my heart.  I know how difficult it is, because I lost my dad just 4 and 1/2 months ago.  Please know that we are all thinking about you.

Love and hugs,

Cass and Kate

Aloha All...

Thank you very much for your kind words and condolences!!  Awe... I miss you all sooooo much!

Well, yes, my father has returned home, but I know he is in a much better place now.  He was battling cancer (I believe it originated in his colon and spread to his lungs) for about a year now.  He didn't suffer much until the very end.  Boy was he a fighter!  Wink  Everytime I went in for diagnostic procedures, including my 1year angiogram which I dreaded, I would just think of him...as my inspiration!  If dad could withstand what he was going through...then I could too!

Anyway, I think of him often...wanting to just pick up the phone to call him...but I know and feel his spirit.

I know I haven't been here much, but I do think of all of you too...You are my second family and were here for me during my toughest days when I was diagnosed with moyamoya last year!

I plan to be on more....  Thanks so much again for all your support!!

I luv y'all...

Take care,
Shan Smiley
