Hey Pat, remember us? Your Dad and Shelly have kept us updated on your situation, and Heidi and I are rooting for you.
I read this website, and the disease must be really scary. I don't know how I would be able to deal with it if it happened to me. I imagine you've really struggled with this a lot. Now that you are having this surgery, I think you're the bravest person I know.
The encouraging thing that I read is that the surgery doesn't hurt that much, and that it seems to be very successful. But, I don't know how you're going to get out of having your head shaved. You might want to put your foot down when they try to take pictures of you with no hair!
Hang in there, young man. We look forward to seeing you in Raleigh the next time you're down here. In addition to praying, a lot of people will be cheering you as you conquer this thing. We'll be among the loudest.
