Thank you for your response - GOOD LUCK to your friend Elaine. I hope everything goes well with the surgery and afterwards.
I think a second or even a third opionion in this situation seems appropriate. I just was not comfortable with the U of M's "not an emergency" priority in my granddaughter's case.
Dr. Steinberg at Stanford and Dr. Scott in Boston seem to be two names that keep coming up as I try to research this condition. This website is a BIG help.
I have emailed both Dr. Steinberg and Dr. Scott to ask for their opinions.
