I was in the same situation almost a year ago with my daughter Sydney. Syd had a major stroke on April 1,2002. Then I come to find she had several TIA's prior. After a month+ of research at Childrens Hosp. of Philadelphia our great neurologist went againts all other docs and gave her the diagnosis of Moyamoya. From that point we did research and found Dr. Scott in Boston to be one of the best if not the best Pediatric Nuerosurgons in the country maybe the world. His passion is Moyamoya and it shows. Our CHOP doc supported our decsision to go to Boston. July was her 1st surgery then she had to have the 2nd on dec.16 right after another TIA. Dr. Scott recieved the MRI/MRA results and took her in with in 5 days. He will do the best he can to get the job done quickly and saftly.
Ask lots of questions and do not be afraid to get other opinions. Just do it quickly. Time is of the essance.

Warm Regards,

~Elise
